_Golden Wedding Notice Advertiser 17 December 1910 BRENTWOOD, December 15. Mr.
and Mrs. P. G. Vanstone, of Brentwood, cele- brated their golden
wedding on November 29. A few friends and a large number of relatives
were present. Dinner was served in n room decorated by their
grandchildren. Tea was also served and speeches eulogistic of Mr. and
Mrs. Vanstone were made bv Messrs. James, William, and Simon Vanstone,
H. W Martin, and A. Anderson. Messrs. J. Nation and H. Launer
entertained the guests with phonographs. Supper was provided. An
incident which added to the day's enjoyment was the meet Mr. Vanstone
with his five brothers and half-brother. Such a reunion had not taken
place for nearly 50 years. Mr. Simon was the onlv guest alive who
attended the wedding ceremonv. Mr. and Mrs. Van- stone were married on
November 29, at Dairv Flat, by the Rev. George Gill, and for 13 years
lived at Myponga. They then removed to Brentwood. Mr. Vanstone has
farmed all his life, but six years ago he re-tired from active work and
is now farming his land in conjunction with one of his sons. Mr. and
Mrs. Vanstone have three sons and three daughters-Messrs. J. J.
Vanstone, of Kadina: S. V. Vanstone. of Yorketown; Joseph Vanstone. of
Brentwood: Mrs. C. H. Martin, of Moonta; Mrs. A. Anderson, and Miss M.
A. Vanstone, of Brentwood.
VILLIS Shirley
_Kitchen Evening Notice Burra Record 13 November 1951 A
Kitchen Evening was tendered Miss Shirley Villis prior to her marriage
with Mr Mervyn Longford, in the R.S.L. Hall. Mr Walter Nankivell was
M.C. for the evening. A good variety of Kitchen gadgets were handed to
the guest of honor. A very sumptuous supper was served after which
dancing continued.
