_Wedding Notice Murray Pioneer 26 January 1950 PACKER -CLEMENTS Wedding at Barmera Beautiful bowls and vases of flowers arranged by Mesdames L.W. Clements and R.F. Woods, decorated the Barmera Congregational Church, on Saturday January 7, for the marriage of Irene Verna, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs L.W. Clements, of Cobdogla, with Arthur Roy, eldest son of Mr and Mrs A.R. Packer, of Forest Range. The Rev. R.F. Woods officiated, and Mr. C. Ayling was organist. The bride, who was given away by her father, was a lovely figure, gowned in magnolia slipper satin. The bodice was fitted on a tulle yoke, with satin applique flowers, making a graceful neckline. The sleeves were fitting and poined over the wrists. The skirt was fully gathered at the hips, giving a bustle effect, and merging into a long train. She wore a coronet of ornage blossom on her hair, and an embroidered tulle veil. Her bouquet was of cream mixed flowers with a touch of pink. The bride wore the groom's gift, a triple pearl necklace, with ear-rings to match.The attendants were the Misses Natalie and Gwen Clements (sister of the bride), Betty Packer (sister of the bridegroom) and little Noleen Perry (bride's cousin). The bridesmaid's frock of apple green, lavender and pink maruisette were made over taffeta slips. They had gathered necklines and full skirts. Plaited marquisette of the same shades, with shoulder veils of tulle to tone and dotted with spriggs of pastel shaded for-get-me-knots, formed the headdress. The flowergirl was frocked in white marquisette, made on similar lines to the other attendants. Each wore mittins to match her frock. A basket of mixed flowers was carried by the flowergirl, who was preceded the bride into the church. Pearl necklets were worn by all of the girls. The bridegroom was attended by Messrs. Neville Norton, Robert Packer and Ervin Clements. During the signing of the register, Mrs. A. Pengilly sang "Oh Promise Me." As the bride left the church a satin slipper was hung on her arm by her mother, and lucky horseshoes by Janet Packer and Brenton Perry. Mrs. L.W. Clements, mother of the bride, wore a mist grey beaded ensemble, with a deeper shade for her hat, gloves, handbag and shoes. Mrs. A.R. Packer wore a black coat, over her chartreuse frock with black hat and accessories. About 50 friends were entertained at a reception at the home of the bride's parents. The bridal couple and their parents received the guests. Mr. W. Moulds was toast master. After the reception the evening was spent in the decorated garage, dancing and playing games, to music supplied by Mrs. Aufderhelde, of Basket Range, with his accordion. For travelling the bride chose a London tan frock, gloves handbag and shoes, and wore a sea-green coat and hat to match. The couple's future home will be at Barmera.

Clarence and Reg Pearson, were best man and grooms man. A reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents. The bride's mother was smartly frocked in black crepe de chine, with a black hat. The mother of the bridegroom wore a toilette ot navy satin, relieved with white, with hat to match. About 50 relatives and friends were entertained at the wedding breakfast.

_Wedding Notice Murray Pioneer 9th February 1950 POPE - BOOTH The Kingston Congregational Church was prettily decorated on Saturday, December 31, for the marriage of Daphne Hazel, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Booth, to roy Keith, second son of Mr and Mrs W.C. Pope, both of Kingston. The Rev. Renfrey, of Berri, officiated. Mrs W. Swansbury was organist. The bride, who entered the church with her father, to the strains of the Wedding March, wore a lovely gown of cream satin, trimmed with lace, made on princess lines, with a long circular train. The beautiful embroidered tulle veil was held in place with a halo of ornage blossom. A shower bouquet of dahlias and cream rosebuds was carried. The two matrons of honour, Mrs. A. Charlton of Kingston and Mrs Traeger (sisters of the bride), were frocked alike in pale blue satin, made with bustle effect and buttoned to the waist. The last yokes were appliqued with satin flowers. They wore Dolly Varden hats, trimmed with matching flowers and net, and blue lace mittens. The flower girl Shirley Pope (Neice of the bridegroom) wore a cream satin frock made on similar lines to the bride's with a halo of white net and red rosebuds. She carried an early Victorian posy. The bridegroom was attended by his brother Mr. Syd Pope and the groomsman was Mr. S. Tschirpig. Mrs Milton Dinning sang " I'll Walk Beside You" during the signing of the register. As the bride left the church, lucky horseshoes were hung on her arm by Wendy Charlton, Lorraine Pope, Mrs Tschirpig, Robert Booth, Glenice Scadden and Joan Pope. After the ceremony Mr and Mrs Booth entertained about sevety guests in the Kindergarten Hall. The bride's mother wore a pale blue suit, with black accesories. The bridegroom's mother chose a blue crepe suit with white accessories. The bride travelled in a dusty pink suit trimmed with coffee lace and black accessories.

_Wedding Notice Naracoorte Herald 10th February 1949 POSSINGHAM - WALTER WEDDING St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Naracoorte, was beautifully decorated with baskets and bowls of lovely pastel flowers on January 15 for the wedding of Beryl Mary Walter of Hynam, and James Donald Possingham of Naracoorte. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in her smartly cut gown of white slipper satin and lace. The lace bodice, with an inlet yoke of Marquisette, formed a fish tail falling into a long train. Short sleeves with satin bands and a Honiton lace veil flowing from a halo of orange blossom completed the toilette. She carried a cascade of choice cream and white flowers. The bride was attended by her two sisters, frocked alike in billowy white frocks of georgette over moire taffeta, and a band of Marquisette was inserted in the skirt and bodice with short sleeves, eter Pan collars and two rows of tiny buttons down the front. Matching white mittens were worn. They carried cascades of beautiful pastel flowers and tiaras of pastel flowers were worn on their heads. The officiating minister was the Rev. Martin Trudinger of Penola. During the signing of the register, Mrs Thomas of Bordertown sang "O Perfect Love". Mr Colin Freckleton an Mr. Robert Grove acted as ushers. After the ceremony the wedding party and guests adjourned to the Commercial Hotel where a delicious wedding breakfast was enjoyed by all. Mr and Mrs walter received the guests with Mr and Mrs Possingham. Ms Walter was wearing a smartly cut frock of pale green moss crepe, with pleated bodice and peplum, an off the face black straw hat with pink and green flowers, black accessories, and a spray of tiger lilies pinned to her black fox fur. The bridegroom's mother was dressed in saxe blue moss crepe jacket suit embroidered in its own color with full gored skirt and three-quarter sleeves. She wore a black straw hat turned off the face with saxe ribbons, pink and blue flowers, black accessories and a shoulder spray of pink and blue flowers. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. John Minns as best man and Mr Robert Sparrow as groomsman. A lovely three-tier wedding cake, attractively decorated, was made by the bride. After the usual toasts were honoured 50 telegrams were read. Mrs Thomas and Mr John Minns sang two solos, and Mr. S. Hewitt rendered delightful music during the evening. The happy couple left on a tour of coastal towns to Melbourne, the bride travelling in a smart jacket suit of dove grey with burgundy accessories and an attractive grey straw hat with burgundy satin ribbon trimming and veiling.
