Wedding Notice Advertiser and Register 10 July 1931 On June 24, at St. Margaret's Church of England, Mildura, Victoria, the marriage was celebrated of John R., eldest son of Mr.and Mrs. J. R. Jacob, of Bond-street. Hindmarsh, to Lilian, second daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs Kolstad of Netley, New South Wales. The Rev. Canon Horner officiated. The bride, who was given away by Mr. Bert Thomson, wore a white satin sleeveless frock with tight fitting bodice and flared skirt. The beautifully embroidered train had been lent by her sister (Mrs. McLeod). She carried a sheaf of Arum lilies tied with streamers, the gift of her sister. The bridesmaids- Misses Myrtle Kolstad and Verna Thomson—wore satin frocks—one primrose and the other apple green, with black crin picture hats, and they carried shower bouquets of sweet peas and carnations. Mr. McBain was best man and Mr. McLeod groomsman. A reception was held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Thomson, Pine-avenue. Mildura. where relations and intimate friends were entertained.

Wedding Notice West Coast Sentinel 22nd January 1916 A pretty wedding was celebrated at Athenna on Thursday 13th., inst, when Mr.J William John of Nuriootpa and Miss Viola M. Christian, youngest daughter of Mr. Edmund Christian of Greenock, were united in marriage. The Rev. Ivon G White officiated. The hall was decorated in red, white and blue flowers and greenery, and presented a pretty appearance. The bride, who was given away by her brother ( Mr. J.R. Christian) was daintily gowned in white embroidered voile, her court train being suspended from the waist. The tulle veil was becomingly arranged with a wreath of orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of white flowers and fern. She was attended by Miss Christian (her sister), who wore a pretty frock of pale blue cashmere and carried a pale pink bouquet with patriotic streamers. Mr J.G. Christian, supported the bridegroom, as best man, and Mr A.W. Christian, as groomsman. After the ceremony the wedding breakfast was partaken of in an adjoining marquee, and the usual toasts were honoured. Marriage Notice West Coast Sentinel 16th June 1917 JOHNSON - FELTUS The marriage was celebrated on wednesday evening last at St Augustine's church of England, Streaky Bay, of Miss Ethel, second daughter of Mr and Mrs John Feltus, of Streaky Bay to Mr. Tom Johnson. The church which was well filled with guests, was suitably decorated for the occasion, a bamboo and flower decked arch, on the foremost supports of which were the initials of the groom and the rear those of the bride, occupying a prominent position in the aisle. The ceremony was performed by Rev. G.E.G. Dainty, and the bride was given away by her father. Miss Ada Duncan, cousin of the bride, was bridesmaid and Mr. Chas. Speed best man. The bride was becomingly gowned in white silk embroidered organdie muslin, trimmed with pearls and lace, wore a shell pink lined shoulder train and the usual wreath and veil, and carried a beautiful bouquet. The bridesmaid was dressed in shell pink crepe de chene, trimmed with creme insertion. She also wore a mob cap, trimmed with pink flowers, and the groom's gift, a gold broach, and carried a bouquet of pink and white flowers. Afterwards the whole company adjourned to the institute, where a short reception was held, at which the health of the newly wedded pair was drunk at the instance of Rev. Dainty, whose remarks were supported by Mr. D.T. Kenny. The bridegroom briefly responded, thanking all for their kindnesses. The health of the bridesmaid was proposed by Mr. J.F. Gardner and responded to by Mr. C. Speed, while that of the parents was in the hands of Mr. John Speed; Mr Feltus suitably acknowledging. The presents, which were arrayed upon tables on the stage, were a numerous and useful lot. A wedding breakfast was partaken of by a large circle of relatives at the home of the bride's parents.
