_Golden Wedding Notice Advertiser 1 December 1906 On
Sunday last the golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs. W. Lindner, sen., was
celebrated at their homestead, Emmaus, where they have resided for the
past 32 years. The aged couple arrived in South Australia by the ship
Dinapore in 1874, and immediately settled at Eudunda. Mr. Lindner, who
is 75 years old, was born in Brandenburg, Prussia, on December 27, 1831,
and Mrs. Lindner, who is two months younger than her husband, was born
on February 2, 1832. They have two sons, three daughters, forty-eight
grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, all of whom, with two
exceptions, were present on the occasion. There were over 200 guests
present at the celebration, and the happy old folk received numerous
presents, including an address and an armchair from their children.
Pastor T. Nickel gave an address of congratulation, and Mr. Lindner, re-
plied. Mr. W. Lindner, jun., on behalf of the children, also spoke. The
Emmaus Lutheran Church choir (Eudunda), under Mr. F. G. E. Appelt, sang
hymns. The old people are hale and hearty.
