THe church was decorated with arches of asparagus fern interwoven with pink flowers and bowls of pink gladioli and blue gum. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore an ivory pink satin frock, made in princess style, with long bodice and long sleeves,' fully flared skirt, toe length. The bridal veil, which was lent by Mrs. B. Colwell, formed the train,It was caught on either side by a tiny spray of orange blossom. She carried a sheaf bouquet of pale pick gladioli. The bridesmaid wore an ankle length frock of apple green georgette, and a becoming felt hat and shoes to tone. She carried a posy of sweet peas and gladioli. Mr. H. Wurm was best man. The bride groom's mother was attired in a black satin frock and black felt hat. She carried a posy of flowers in autumn tints. Mr. A. Bowman officiated at the organ. During the signing of the register Mrs. A. B. Schulz sang "Because." The bride's travelling dress was of navy moracain, relieved with white, and a fur trimmed coat, hat, shoes, and stockings en suite.

Wedding Notice Burra Record 6 October 1936 At the Pirie Street Methodist Church, Saturday, September 12, the marriage was celebrated of Mr Frederick C. March youngest son of Mr William and the late Mrs March of Kooringa and Miss Florence Lamey, youngest daughter of Mrs and the late Mr A. Lamey of Mount Gambier. The Rev. J. P. H. Tilbrook of Kooringa, performed the ceremony and Mr. Harold Parsons played the wedding music. The church was very tastefully decorated for the occasion. Given away by her cousin, Mr Charles Lamey of Adelaide, the fair young bride was a dainty figure in her bridal robe of fine woven lace with leaf design made over taffeta silk. The high neck was finished with a cowl collar and the long tight fitting sleeves had an open cowl finish on the shoulders. The well cut skirt merged into a long train over which fell in soft folds the beautifully embroidered tulle veil. This was fastened to the hair with a dainty halo of pearls and orange blossom. Her sheaf of choice pink blossoms was tied with wide pink satin ribbon and her only ornament a string of pearls. Two bridesmaids, Misses Helen Mumme and Ruby Bass, both of Kooringa, were in attendance. Frocked exactly, alike they looked very graceful in dusky pink self stripe cloque. Long and smartly cut their dresses, were simply made with high cowl necks and backs of the bodice fastened with a close row of tiny buttons, the long tight fitting sleeves were also finished from elbow to wrists with similar buttons. The skirts had a pointed corsage in front from which a sash was arranged tied with a large bow at the back. Dainty haloes of pale pink flowers and blue Forget-me-nots graced their heads and large posies of mauve and pale pink flowers with pink velvet footwear completed the ensemble. Mr Rex Walker of Kooringa and Mr Ray Seeley (cousin) of Glenelg, fulfilled the duties of best man and groomsman respectively. Amongst those present were a number of Burra friends who were n the city for the Floral festival. Mrs Lamey, mother of the bride wore a navy costume with biscuit trimmings and a smart navy hat en suite, and the bridegroom's two sisters, Mrs Seeley chose a Marina blue costume and Mrs T. Barry a brown costume and brown hat. After the ceremony, wedding tea was served at Mrs Snell's (a friend's) home at North Adelaide, after which Mr and Mrs March left for the honey moon which was spent at Strathalbyn. The bride's travelling dress was a chic costume of brown wool de chene, small brown hat, with matching handbag, gloves and foot wear.

Mr. George Hill was best man. and Mr. Don Moseley groomsman. The Rev. A. C. Stevens, who officiated, was assisted by the Rev. H. Wood. After the ceremony, a reception was held. She also wore a cameo brooch, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr Les Dunnet carried out the duties of best man. After the ceremony was over, the wedding party motored to the residence of Mr. V. Helberg, brother of the bride. Next morning the newly married couple motored to denial Bay, to catch the s.s. Rupara, bound for Adelaide, where they intend spending their honeymoon. The bride's travelling costume was a light brown coat and skirt, Tango trimming, small black velvet hat, with Tango flower. The happy couple will make their new home in Penong.

Wedding Notice Naracoorte Herald 20 February 1950 A very pretty wedding was witnessed at Scots Church, Casterton, when Elizabeth Jean, younger daughter of Mrs. M. Millard of "Calara" Langkoop, and the late Mr. Millard, and Raymond Leslie, younger son of Mr and Mrs H. Bond, of Casterton, were married on Saturday, February 4. The bride made a very charming picture as she entered the church on the arm of her brother, Mr. V. Millard. Her dress was of lace and tulle, having a lace bodice and full tulle skirt appliqued with lace. Her veil was held by gardenias and pearls and she carried a trailer bouquet. The matron of honour, Mrs R. Bond (sister of the bride), of Booberowie, S.A., and the two bridesmaids, Misses Faye Bond and June McElroy, completed the very dainty picture in dresses of pale green tulle over satin, with autumn-toned floral halos and bouquets. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. Roy Bond and Messrs. Les Millard and Ross McLean. The reception, which was held in the Town Hall supper room, was attended by over 100 guests. They were received by Mrs. Millard, who was in black, with black accessories, trimmed with pink, and Mr. Bond. Mrs Bond, who could not attend the reception, but was present at the church, was in London tan with matching accessories. The Rev. Jamieson presided at the wedding service and breakfast, at which the usual toasts were honoured, and many congratulatory telegrams were read. The three tiered cake was made by the brides mother and decorated by Mrs. Don, of casterton. The church was decorated by the bridegroom's sisters and Miss Smith. After the reception the happy couple motored to Warrnambool, where the honeymoon was spent. the bride travelled in a navy frock trimmed with white, with white and navy accessories. The future home of Mr and Mrs Raymond Bond will be at "Glenara", Apsley.

Wedding Notice West Coast Sentinel 27th April 1918 MONTGOMERIE - BARNS A wedding that attracted more than the usual interest from the fact that both contracting parties were both well-known and popular young people of the Streaky Bay district, was celebrated in St. Augustine's Church of England on Thursday evening, April 18th. The happy couple joined together in matrimony were Mr Richard Campbell Montgomerie, second son of Mr and Mrs W.M. Montgomerie, of Chercanabie, and Miss Bertha Gertrude Barns, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs F. Barns, of Mabie farm. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. G.E.G. Dainty at 7 o'clock. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, and was beautifully gowned in white crepe de chene short dress without train, trimmed with small buttons and shell designs in chain stitching. The bodice had a coatee effect in front, and the skirt was neatly finished with side drapings and chain stitching. The bridal veil was slightly draped across the bride's head and adorned with sprays of orange blossom and pearls. White kid gloves ans white kid court shoes were worn. The bride carried an ivory-mounted prayer book with white satin ribbon streamers, and her only ornaments were a rope of crushed pearls. Miss Doris Montgomerie (sister of the bridegroom) was the only bridesmaid, and she wore a white Indian crepe dress with an overdress trimmed with silk insertion and slik stitching, and finished at the waist with a silk belt and streamers with handsome silk tassels. She carried an ivory-mounted prayer book with white satin ribbon streamers, which was the gift of the bride. Mr. F. Montgomerie, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man. The girl friends of the bride had effectively decorated the church for the occasion, and suspended from an arch was a large wedding bell. After the ceremony, the bridal party motored to the institute, where a reception was held. Here again, the girl friends of the bride had previously been busily engaged in decorating the hall for the occasion with flags, greenery, etc., and which had a most pleasing effect. Rev. G.E.G. Dainty presided, and after proposing the loyal toast, submitted that of the bride and bridegroom, to which the bridegroom responded. The health of the bridesmaid was toasted at the instance of Mr F.B. Wreford, and Mr.F. Montgomerie acknowledged. The toast of the parents of the happy couple was submitted by Mr J.F. Gardner and responded to by Mr. F. Barns. Mr G.P. Cheyne proposed a toast to the bride's absent soldier brothers and relatives, which was drank to the singing of "For they are jolly good fellows." On the stage were arrayed a large number of wedding presents, some of which were most beautiful and costly. Over thirty cheques were also included among the presents. On the Saturday afternoon previous to the wedding a kitchen tea was given the bride at the residence of Mrs H.A. Betts, and arranged by the members of the Girl's Friendly society, of which the bride is a member. A large number of useful presents were received.

Wedding Notice Advertiser and Register 27 February 1931 At St. Augustine's Anglican Church, Streaky Bay, on February 18, Murray S., son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Thomas Mudge of Streaky Bay, was married to Emily, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Kelsh of Streaky Bay. The Rev. C. C. Crowley officiated, and Miss Flora Cheyne presided at the organ. The church was decorated by Mesdames A. E. Jackson and D. J. Campbell. The bride, who was given away by her father was frocked in white georgette, with a long, tight fitting bodice, long tight sleeves, finished at the wrist with flares, and a full flared skirt, dipping at the back. An embroidered tulle veil was worn, finished with a coronet of orange blossom. The bride's trainbearers were Margaret Kelsh (sister) and Mary Mudge (niece of the bridegroom). The bridesmaids were Miss Bessie Mudge and Miss Eileen Hartree (cousins of the bridegroom). They were frocked alike in gold georgette. Mr. W. Kelsh (brother of the bride) was best man and Mr. Graham Hartree groomsman. After the ceremony the party spent the evening at the residence of the bride's parents, where supper was served. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Mudge next day left per motor for Adelaide.

Wedding Notice West Coast Sentinel 28th August 1914 MUDGE - MONTGOMERIE A very pretty wedding was celebrated at S. Augustine's Church of England, Streaky Bay, on Wednesday evening last, when Miss Blanche, fifth daughter of Mr. J.R. Montgomerie, of Kirkala, was married to Harold, youngest son of Mr Henry Mudge, of Streaky Bay. The church had been attractively decorated with clematis and greenery, while in the isle were several bamboo arches, and from the centre of the first of these hung a large wedding bell. A few minutes past 7 o'clock the bride entered the church on the arm of her father, and, as she passed up the isle towards the chancel, was the subject of much admiration. The ceremony weas performed by Canon Howard - a very old friend of both parties. The bride was attired in creme merve silk, with silk lace over bodice and draped skirt, the train being trimmed with orange blossom and good luck horseshoes; she also wore the customary wreath and veil, carried a bouquet of freziers, gernium and maiden hair fern, and wore the gift of the bride-groom- an agnamarine necklet. The bridesmaid, Miss Jessie Montgomerie (sister of the bride), was dressed in creme voile, trimmed with satin and all-over lace, and carried a bouquet of tango roses and buttercups and asparagus fern. The bridegroom's gift to her was a manicure set. Little Misses Eva Mudge (niece of the bride) and Marjorie Betts were the train bearers. They were effectively dressed in creme solk, with silk lace bonnets, and carried baskets of white flowers and asparagus fern, while they also wore faith, hope and charity brooches, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. J. Alwyn Mudge (cousin of the bridegroom) was best man. Miss Tessa Old presided at the organ and the bridal party wended their way to the vestry and the large attendance left the church to the strains of Mendelsshon's well known wedding march. After the ceremony, a reception was held at the Streaky Bay institute, which was also prettily decorated. This, as also the similar work at the church, was the labour of the bride's girlfriends. Upon all the guests being welcomed, and cake and wine handed around, Canon Howard proposed the toast of the bride and bridegroom, wishing them, on behalf of the company, long life and happiness. Mr Mudge suitably responded. Mr J.F. Gardner proposed the toast of the bridesmaids, which Mr Alwyn Mudge acknowledged. The bridal party then promenaded, after which general dancing was indulged in, interspersed with with songs by Mrs Steer, Miss Campbell and Mr Hills. Card tables and groups engaged in social chat occupied the stage, and about 11 o'clock supper was partaken of. The happy couple were the recipients of a large number of handsome wedding presents, which were arrayed in one of the ante rooms.

The Interior of the church was decorated by friends of the bride. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father to the strains of the "Wedding March." The bride was gowned In ivory satin, ankle length. She wore a silver and white veil, forming the train, and a coronet of orange blossoms, satin shoes, and carried a sheaf of lily of the valley, with horse-shoes and streamers. The bride was attended by Miss Doris Kelly, who wore green satin shoes and hat ensuite, and carried a sheaf of autumn tints. The bride's youngest sister Eileen hung a lucky horse-shoe on the bride's arm as she left the church. Mrs. Mueller, mother of the bride, wore a black celanese frock, with beige hat. Mrs. Wittwer, mother of the bridegroom, was frocked in navy blue and wore a black hat. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. William B. Wittwer. After the ceremony the bridal party adjourned to Mr. Walter Watson's hotel, where the reception was held. The dining-room was decorated in the bride's colors. After a wedding dinner the toasts of the "Bride and Bridegroom" and of tne Parents were honored. The young couple left by car for Mount Gambier, where the honeymoon will be spent. The bride's travelling frock was of navy blue satin. She wore a navy hat, fawn and navy shoes.

_Wedding Notice Port Lincoln Times 18th Janaury 1940 MURTON - DODD At the Cummins Methodist Church on January 9, the Rev. Neil Usher officiated at the marriage of Elma Florence, daughter of Mr and Mrs Arthur W. Dodd, to Robert William (Bob) eldest son of Mr and Mrs R.N. Murton, all of Cummins. The church was beautifully decorated by friends with pink, blue and mauve flowers in large brass bowls on tall pedestals, and waterfall ferns, window boxes and silver bells made a pretty finish. Miss Stevenson was the organist. The bride entered the church with her father, wearing a lovely frock of white pintucked marquisette with full skirt, short puff sleeves and small buttons down the back. A pearl toned velvet ribbon sash was tied in a flat bow in front, and a string of pearls was worn. She carried a shower bouquet of water lillies and other white flowers. The misty tulle veil was finger tip length, was worn over the face and was arranged on the fair haired bride with a high cluster of white lilac. The bridesmaid, Miss Rhonda Oswald, was frocked in hyacinth ble pin tucked marquisette, with a full skirt, puff sleeves and self coloured buttons. A velvet ribbon sash was tied in a flat bow in the front. On her dark hair a short blue tulle veil was arranged with lilac and blue flowers and tied at the back. she carried a bouquet of pink and blue flowers, finished with pink ribbon. A gold and blue pendant (gift of bridegroom) was worn. Mr. Will Dodd, only brother of bride, was bestman. Little June Blesing and Yvonne Parker hung lucky horseshoes on the bride's arm as she was leaving the church. Members of the Koppio Rifle Club (Mr. Murton senr. is captain, and Bob is also a member) formed a guard of honor from the church steps to the front gate. Mrs Arthur Dodd (mother of bride) chose a Wedgewood blue ensemble, with black hat and shoulder spray of hyacinth blue flowers. Mrs Norman Murton (bridegroom's mother) was attired in a floral morocain in navy, red and blue. Her hat was navy and the shoulder spray dark red roses. A wedding reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. The bride's travelling frock was mustard toned crepe silk, with floral panel in front and self toned sash. The coat was maize color, with pin ticked sleeves, navy hat and accessories. Their future home will be at Cummins.

_Wedding Notice Murray Pioneer 30th March 1950 Ceremony at Ev. Lutheran Church Two New Australians, who arrived from overseas on January 30, and had been working on the fruit harvest at Renmark, were married at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fourteenth Street, Renmark, at noon on Saturday. The Rev. L.P. Altus officiated. The bride, who was an attractive figure wore a gown of cream satin and tulle veil (both loaned by Mrs C.L. Brebner). She entered the church with her father. The bride was formerly Miss Julia Mysiszezew, and the bridegroom was Mr. Anatly Demura. They had known each other for some time before coming to Australia. Miss Shirley Millar attended the bride, and Mr Michael Mead was best man. Mr and Mrs W.J.T. Mead on whose property the bride and her father have been working, arranged a reception in the form of a buffet tea, and later in the afternoon the bridal party held a small celebration in their national Polish custom. Mr Demura had been working on Mr. J.C.V. Martin's proprty The bride's mother and five other members of the family are at the migrant's reception camp at Bonegilla. MC, C.L. Brebner, who has acted as interpreter for New Australians during the fruit harvest, played a prominent part in facilitating preliminary arrangements for the wedding. The couple left on Monday to take up new employment duties in Adeaide.
