_Silver Wedding Notice, The Advertiser 21 October 1927 Mr.
and Mrs. J. R. Ferguson, of "Bairdslea," Weetulta, celebrated their
silver wedding on October 11. Amongst those present were Mr. and Mrs. A.
L. McEwin, Mr. and Mrs. J. Olifent,Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Wearing. Mr. and
Mrs. R. K. Kitto, Mr. and Mrs. D. Morris, Mr. and Mrs W. Bagshaw, Mr.
and Mrs. O. Payne, Mesdames J. P. Ferguson and R. C. Kitto, Mr. H.
Carmichael, Misses Wearinjr. M. Kitto, E. Kitto, L Olifent, E. Morris,
Ethel, Marion, and Eunice Bagshaw. The guests were entertained at high
tea. Mr. Ferguson, who was born at Salisbury, migrated with his father,
sisters, and brothers to the Peninsula from Golden Grove when he was 11
years of age, and for over 10 years has carried on farming pursuits at
Weetulta. He is the third son of the Rev. J.R. Ferguson. He married
Susannah, second daughter of the late Mr. R. K. Kitto. They have a
family of six— two sons and four daughters. Mr. Oliver Payne (who was
Mr. I Ferguson's best man), in proposing the toast of Mr. and Mrs.
Ferguson said Mr. Fergason was a citizen of the best type. Amongst some
at the positions he had held were president of the Weetulta football and
tennis clubs and the Woodlands cricket club, president of the Moonta
A.H. and F. Society, and the Moonta Agricultural Bureaua, president of
the Moonta high scchool council and the Weetulta school board, presidnet
of the Yorke Peninsula Christian Endeavor Union, past master of the
Duke of Edinburgh Masonic Lodge, and for 21 jears he was secretary and
treasurer of the Weetulta church trust. Mr. Ferguson also served Agery
ward in the Clinton District Council for nine years and for over 30
years had been a lay preacher. Mrs. Ferguson. although not
publiclyassociated with the activities of her husband, had, through her
self-sacrifice and loyalty, worthily supported the good work done by
him. Messrs J. Olifent and A. McEwin supported the toast, which was
received with musical honors. Pianoforte duets rendered by Misses Annie
and Janet Ferguson, songs and choruses by the company, and table bowls
helped to pass away a very pleasant evening. The offices at present held
by Mr. Ferguson are master of the Duke of Edinburgh Mark Lodge and
third principal of the Duke of Edinburgh Arch Chapter. He is also a
justice of the peace, a member of the council of the Liberal Union, and
for 13 years has been secretary of the Weetulta branch of the Liberal
Union.

_Silver Wedding Notice Advertiser and Register 28 April 1931 Last
Saturday more than 70 guests were entertained at tea and for the
evening at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. A. Forrest, Hackham, on the
occasion of the silver anniversary of their wedding. The room was
decorated witn streamers of fern, having a touch of silver here and
there, the floral effects being in autumn tints. A three-tier cake,
ornamented in silver, was cut by the first bridesmaid (Mrs. A. Rowley,
formerly Miss Forrest), sister of the bridegroom, assisted by the second
bridesmaid (Mrs. H. Candy, formerly Miss B. Holly), neice of the bride.
The bridegroom's father. Mr. T. Forrest, of Myponga, who is 84 was also
present. The evening was occupied with games, competitions, songs, and
elocutionary items. Tbe bride and bridegroom received a number of
presents.
