Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Elix yesterday celebrated the 50th anniversary of their wedding. They are two of the German pioneers, having arrived from the Fatherland in the ship Sophia in 1854. They were married at Rosenthal, in the old country. Mrs. Elix was formerly Miss Maria Bisse. Most of their children were present yesterday, and an enjoyable time was spent. There are four sons-Messrs. Ad., W., Gus., and Aug.-and three daughters-Mesdames J. W. Traeger, G. A. Block, and A. Schumann.
