_Wedding Notice Murray Pioneer 9th February 1950 LASKEY - WHIBLEY A very pretty wedding was performed by the Rev. Geo. Wright, at Kaoronda Methodist Church, when Mavis Valmai, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs A.C. Whibley, was married to Rex, son of Mr H.J. Laskey, and the late Mrs Laskey of Gawler Blocks. The bride entered the church with her father. Se was attired in off-white satin. The bodice, the yoke of which was all-over lace appliqued with satin flowers and the skirt formed the train. She wore a long net veil, which was gathered into a halo trimmed with orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of white flowers and ferns. The bride was attended by her two sisters, Irene and Marcia, dressed alike in blue embossed taffeta, made with yokes of ecru lace, with self frills. They wore short net veils with bands of pink flowers. The bridegroom was attended by a school mate, Mr Eric Gerlach, and the groomsman was the bride's brother, Ronald. During the signing of the register, Mrs Brooks sang "I'll Walk Beside You." As the bride left the church two of her small cousins, Judith Whibley and Raelene Stanton, hung lucky horseshoes on her arm. The bride's mother was frocked in a blue silk crepe ensemble with black accessories. The bridegroom's step mother wore a floral frock with navy lightweight coat. The wedding march was played by Mrs. Ron Abbott. A buffet breakfast was held at the home of the bride's parents, where about 40 guests were entertained. The bride's travelling outfit was an aqua crepe ensemble with white accessories. The future home will be Marchard.

Wedding Notice Advertiser and Register 20 July 1931 At St. Patrick's Church, Adelaide, the marriage was celebrated by the Rev. Father Barrey, of G. F. Wallace, twin son of Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Lavender, Black Forest, to Monica Margaret, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Cavanagh, of Keswick. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of ivory georgette, the bridal veil of tulle being worn with a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a shower bouquet of carnations and hyacinths. Her bridesmaids were Miss Nora Cavanagh and Miss Winnie Koslowski in taffeta frocks, the one pink and the other pale blue, with picture felt hats to match, and they carried bouquets of sweet peas and carnations. Mr. Gerald Lavender was best man, and Mr. Geoffrey Lavender groomsman. Mrs. W. Cavanagh (mother of bride) was attired in black georgette and lace frock, black velour hat. Mrs. C. P. Lavender (mother of bridegroom) wore an ensemble suit in biege moracain, velour hat, a posy of roses. A reception was afterwards held at the Regal.

_Wedding Notice Port Lincoln Times 4th Janaury 1940 LEHMANN - HOPPING One of Port Lincoln's most recent brides (Miss Connie Hopping) looked charming at her marriage to Mr. Les. Lehmann, of Victoria, in the Pirie Street Methodist Church, Adelaide, on December 26. Her bridal gown, of lovely off-white patterned lace, was in Elizabethan style, with a long train from the waist and a very full skirt. The high neckline was finished with a small collar and the bodice had a row of tiny buttons down the front to the waist. Her gown was matched with a long tulle veil, held in place with a top-knot of orange blossom. The bridal sheath was of white flowers. The matron-of-honor (Mrs P. Moore, formerly Miss Margaret Williams of Port Lincoln) and the bridesmaid (Miss Dorothy Hopping) were frocked alike in blue marquisette. Their veils were fastened with pink top-knots and they carried posies of blue delphiniums and pink roses. Mr. Arnold Hopping was best man and Mr Darcy Wright groomsman. About 75 guests attended the reception at the Grosvenor after the wedding. The bride's mother (Mrs A.S. Hopping) received her guests in Burgundy lace dinner frock, with accessories to match, and carried a lovely posy of shot silk roses. The bride's travelling frock was a smart light beige ensemble, worn with black accessories. her future home will be in Sale, Victoria.
