Marriage Notice The Bunyip 8th March 1916 CUSTANCE - BARNET - On the 21st February, at the Hindmarsh square Congregational Church, Adelaide, by the Rev. Geo Rayner, Corporal Frederic Cyril Custance, Australian Flying Corps, A.I.F., third son of Prof. J.D. Custance, F.C.S., F.R.A.S. to Edith Violet, third daughter of the late Mr. William Barnet, of Gawler
The marriage of Mr. Frederic C. Custance and Miss Edith V. Barnet, of Gawler was very quietly celebrated on Monday of last week at the Hindmarsh Square Congregational Church, the officiating minister being the Rev. Geo. Rayner, of Glenelg. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. R.H. Barnet, wore a coat and skirt of white crepe de Chene and large white hat lined with the palest shade of pink, trimmed with feather clusters. Miss A.L. Rogasch, in Assam silk coat and skirt, large hat to match, acted as bridesmaid, and Mr. H.E. Hancock, of North Adelaide, attended to the Kings Uniform. The bride's sister presided at the organ. After the ceremony, motors conveyed those present to the home of Mr and Mrs A. Stump, "Stonehenge", Malvern, where the hospitality of the host and hostess was thoroughly enjoyed, and and a delightful repast was partaken of. The table was decorated most artistically, and in a thoroughly patriotic style, in honour of the bridegroom, who is a Corporal in the Australian Flying Corps, A.I.F. and leaves early in March to serve his country and Empire. The ususal toasts were honoured in a bright and jovial manner, and best of good wishes extended to the happy couple who later motored away for a short honeymoon.
