_Silver Wedding Notice The Advertiser 21 June 1928 On
Sunday afternoon a social tendered to Mr. and Mrs. W. Nenke to
celebrate their silver wedings. The afternoon was spent in music and

_90th Birthday Notice Advertiser 22 July 1910 A FINE OLD SETTLER. ! INGLEWOOD. July 20. On
Sunday Mr. W. Nobes, sen., celebrated his 90th birthday. He was born at
Brenton, Norfolk, on July 17, 1820. In 1847 he married Miss Elizabeth
Smith, of Sunderland, Durham. After a few years he decided to come to
South Australia, and he, with his wife and three children, set out in
the sailing vessel Calabar, commanded by Captain Moodv. They were three
months on the voyage. He first settled in Coromandel Valley and from
there went to Walkerville, and finally at Ellis Flat, near Millbrook,
where he has resided for 42 years. He is one of the oldest fruitgrowers
in the hills and was at one time inspector of codlin moth. Two years ago
Mr. and Mrs. Nobes celebrated their diamond wedding. Mr. Nobes has
still very good health, and is able to do light work. Mrs. Nobes is now
an invalid. The family consists of five sons and four daughters:-Mr.
Robert Nobes, of Adelaide; Mr. William Nobes, Victoria; Mr. Thomas
Nobes, of Inglewood; Mr. George Nobes. Hindmarsh; Mr. Edward Nobes,
Bakara; Mrs. Herryman, Gilberton; Mrs. Dearman, Lobethal; Mrs. F.
Dearman, Inglewood; and Miss Nobes, Ellis Flat. There are 30
grandchildren and 7 great- grandchildren.
NOLL
_Golden Wedding Notice Advertiser and Register 28 February 1931 The
golden anniversary of the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. M. H. F. Noll, of
Crystal Brook West, was celebrated on Wednesday, February 25. All the
members of the family assembled at the homestead. For fifty years the
couple have resided at Crystal Brook West, gaining their livelihood from
the land. Mr. and Mrs. Noll were married at Pinkington's Plains, near
Balaklava in his twenties Mr Noll was a layman of the Lutheran Church
for 25 years. During the afternoon they had the wedding breakfast, 60
relatives being present. The usual toasts were honored in the ceremony.
About 130 persons were present. The evening was spent in games and
competitions, with musical items. Those who assisted in the programme
were Miss V. Liersch, Miss A. Johns, Mr. G. Wiebusch, and Miss P.
Liersch. Mr. F. Noll had charge of the dialogues and was M.C. There were
seven in family and six survive. They are Mrs. F T. Will (Port Pirie).
Mr. A. F. W. Noll (Rosedale), Mr. G. A. Noll (Canowie Belt), Mr. W. E.
Noll (Gawler). Mr. L. H. Noll (Crystal Brook), and Mrs. F. H. Traeger
(Temora, New South Wales). There are 21 grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.
