Law Court Notice The Advertiser 13 April 1939 Dangerous Driving Charge Dismissed A charge against William Priestly Murray, company manager, of Wood street, Millswood, of having driven a motor car in a manner dangerous to the public, was dismissed by Mr. Newman. SM, in the Traffic Court yesterday. It was alleged that the offence occurred on February 23, at Peacock and King William roads and Albert street, at Adelaide, North Unley, and Goodwood Park. An application by Mr. C. J. Christie (for the defendant) for costs was refused. Assistant Police Prosecutor Barrington prosecuted.

Divorce Notice The Advertiser 16 September 1933 In the Supreme Court yesterday the Chief Justice (Sir George Murray) heard the undefended action for divorce. Order for nisi for dissolution of marriage was made : Arthur Henry Maidment of Hindmarsh Island against Nellie Maud Maidment of Hindmarsh Island, on the ground of misconduct. Custody of the children, Ruth Lillian, Coral Linda and William Alfred was given to Maidment. Liberty was reserved to Mrs Maidmant to apply to the court for access to the children. Mr. J.L. Court Notice Naracoorte Herald 6 February 1950 CONVICTED THREE TIMES IN LAST THREE MONTHS In the Naracoorte Police Court on saturday, a railway worker who was convicted on drunkenness charged three times in the last three months, was fined £5 with costs, and was given a stern warning by the Bench. The defendant was Vladas Maslauskas, a labourer of Hynam railway camp. He appeared before Mr. L. R. DeGaris, J.P. (by consent) and pleaded guilty to having been drunk on the Hynam road last Friday. He also admitted that he had been convicted on similar charges twide before in three months. In imposing the penalty, Mr DeGaris warned the defendant that if he could not keep away from liquor, other measures would have to be adopted to restrain him. Costs were fixed at 7/6 and 14 days were allowed in which to pay. in default of which Maslauskas would be sent to gaol for 14 days.

_Court Notice Mt. Barker Courier 2 January 1931 Before Messrs, C. Poore and L.W. Carr, J.P's. December 26, 1930 William Patrick McEwen, of Adelaide, was charged before the above justices by Sergt. Koch, of Mount Barker, with having driven a motor car on the Prince's Highway at Wistow on the 25th day of December, 1930, while so much under the influence of intoxicating liquor as to be incapable of exercising sufficient control of such motor vehicle. Clifford Penn Hughes, a representative of the Colonial Mutual Life Association at Mount Gambier, stated he was travelling up the hill just past the Wistow Post Office, travelling about 20 miles per hour. He saw the other car coming down the hill from Adelaide. The car was on the wrong side of the road. Witness expected the other car would presently change over to the right side. Witness kept on the left-hand side of the road as far as possible. Defendant came straight at the witness who at the last second tried to swing out of the way. Defendant's car struck witness's left front wheel and side, and the wheel and side were carried away. The car was thrown across the road and crushed up against the fence. When the witness got out of his car he found the defendant was under the influence of liquor. Witness asked defendant his name, but he would not give it. Measurements were taken by the police and the distance the defendant's wheel was at the time of the collision was two feet from the side of the road. Witness's wife's head was badly bruised and his child was cut and bruised and at present prostated. Gustav B. Liebelt, of Bigg's Flat, said when he saw the defendant on the Wistow Road he was under the influence of liquor. Sergt. Koch of Mount Barker, said the two glasses (produced) were found in the car. He afterwards arrested the defendant and cautioned him. Later in the cell the defendant said the friend he was with had a bottle of whisky and they drank it. He was incapable of driving the car and was very much under the influence of liquor. Defendant pleaded guilty and a fine of £20 reduced to £10 with costs £3 2/ was ordered, in default two months. An application for time to pay was opposed by the police. The court allowed 14 days for payment on condition that the car remained in the possession of Mr. Geo. Mason, motor garage, Adelaide, till the fine is paid.

Divorce Notice Advertiser & Register 6 March 1931 DOCTOR'S WIFE SEEKS DIVORCE Misconduct in Vienna Alleged An order nisi was granted Catherine Flora Morey, of North-terrace, Kent Town, by Mr. Justice Napier in the Divorce Court yesterday. Mrs. Morey sought a dissolution of her marriage with Geoffrey Wilson Morey, medical practitioner, of Vienna, Austria, and formerly of Finniss-street,North Adelaide. Mrs Morey stated that she married the defendant on November 21, 1923, at St. Peter's College Chapel, Hackney, and they lived together at Mills-terrace, North Adelaide, and elsewhere. There were no children of the marriage. She alleged that the defendant during October, 1928, at or near Vienna, and in November and December, 1928, and on various dates between September, 1929, and August, 1930, had misconducted himself with Yvonne Ward, of Vienna.
